Christmas Traditions

I love Christmas. I love everything about it-- celebrating Jesus's birthday, family, friends, food, and just relaxing for the day visiting. I was thinking earlier today about all the traditions that my family had growing up. For one, my mom would get us an ornament each year from Christmas village. I got all different types: from princesses, teachers, dogs, etc. I love all of them and get so excited each year to put them on our tree. My parents also would give Davis and me pajamas each Christmas eve, as well as a stuffed animal. We enjoyed both and looked forward to them every year. To this day, I love p,j's and I think this started my love for them! Davis and I would always open each other's presents. On Christmas morning, Davis and I would wake up, go get our parents, and once they were posed with the cameras, we would walk in. It never failed, Santa stubbed his toe. My dad later described each Christmas as a "toy store". I couldn't say he was wrong-- I don't know how they did it, but we always got something special that was really hard for Santa to find. I love Santa. I will believe in Santa until I die. He never let me down.

I hope that we can all look at Christmas through the eyes of a child and truly experience the miracle of Christmas.

Christmas Decorations

I have ALWAYS been obsessed with Christmas decorations and couldn't wait to buy stuff for our house. I get so excited every year to pull out the stuff from the basement to see what all we have collected. My mom has such a gift for decorating and really helped me jazz up my house for the holiday season. Here are some pics of our decorated house!

We had so much fun with our friends a few weeks ago when we went to Opryland. I hadn't been there in forever and I loved the lights! Sadly, Mattie had a bad cold, but he was a great sport & still let me get my holidays pics in! :) Here are a few from the night.

St. Louie!

Mattie and I had so much fun on our quick trip to St. Louis for Pat and Breanne's engagement party. Pat is Matt's best friend from SLU and we are so happy for them! The party was at Breanne's parents house & it was a lot of fun!

We have been busy lately getting to be with friends and family, which we love. Steve and Susan took us out to have dinner while William was home for Thanksgiving. We also went to see Four Christmases with Emily and Jonas-- it was cute, but not my favorite-- it was the company that made it better! Hope you all are ready for CHRISTMAS! My FAVORITE time of the year!

Viva Las Vegas.....

Last week, my co-workers, (Melissa, Ashley & Carole) & my boss and her husband went to Las Vegas. We went for a dental seminar-- but got to see the city, the nightlife, and had a fun time getting to be together. Here are some pics from our adventure & sadly, I didn't win any money.

this is from the 4th before our wedding, but I thought it was too cute to not put on here as she prepares for her wedding!

My bestie Liz and I got to spend some time together over her fall break. She is teaching 5th grade at Gibbs Elementary in Knoxville and I miss her so much! It is always so nice when she is here over a few days and we get to catch up. It's not everyday that you find a friend that you have been friends with since birth. I am so lucky that we have stayed so close and get to spend special time with her as she prepares for such a fun time. She and Chris are getting married June 27, 2009, and I am so happy for her. She picked out her dress over her break and it is beautiful!!! My mom and I got to meet she and Julie for lunch and got to go see her dress.. I can't wait for 6-27!!!!

Scott's 40th

Tammy (my boss) has been working long and hard to make Scott (her husband and my distant cousin)'s birthday a hit.. and it WAS! He was so surprised when he came down the driveway and saw everyone! It was fun for everyone to get together and to see some family and friends!!! Happy (early) birthday, Scott!!!

Keep your fingers (and toes) crossed!!!!

This is a very large election, obviously, and I really hope that voters make the right decision. If you haven't voted yet, go out and vote, and either way--- as my dad always says, "If you don't vote, you can't complain." AMEN. So get out there.

Proud to be a Tennessee Titan!!!!

So proud to be a Tennessee Titan!! They have gone 7-0 for the 1st time in franchise history!!! Way to go, guys!!! Matt and I will at the Packers game next weekend!!!

Birmingham Convention!

Melissa, Ashley, Carole and I took a trip to Birmingham to go to a dental conference there. We ate at Cocina (of course!) and hung out together-- we had a great time! We are going to Las Vegas in November together for 5 days which we are all looking forward to!!
