Love #5- snackfood/ candy (these are not my loves in order.)

I have always had a weird obsession with candy. I guess I have a strong sweet tooth, but all through my life I have loved new candy, sweets, it's a terrible love. I wish I could be allergic to sugar in general.. I feel like that would cure many issues. Here are my top 5:

Doggie Daycare

We got to pet-sit for Gunner Ross last weekend and he and Bentley were the best of friends! Here are some cute pictures I took of them. They looked like twins!

Brownie

So I did it. I finally dyed my hair one color. I had been wanting to for a while, but didn't have the courage! Mattie and I were just running errands last weekend and I decided I wanted to go do it.. I told Mattie to "turn the car around, we are going to Walgreens to get a hair dye kit!" Little did he know, he would be my hair stylist. He did a wonderful job and I am so proud of him to help! Here are some pics to document our adventure!

Babies Everywhere!!!

I am so happy to announce that both my friend Jennifer Self and my boss Tammy Thompson both had healthy baby boys!!! William Charles Self was born on December 23rd, and Samuel Scott Thompson was born on January 11th!

I am so happy for both families and thankful for healthy (cute!!) baby boys!

A tribute to 2008...

Song: I would have to say meaningful would be Shadowfeet by Brooke Frasier. Its amazing because I absolutely loved this song at the beginning of last year and it truly helped me so much while getting through the beginning of Matt's diagnosis. What amazing lyrics: "Fast approaching is the day When the world is falling out from under me, I'll be found in you, still standing--- when the sky falls up and mountains fall on their knees, when time and space are through, I'll be found in you... you make all things new..."

fun: would be either Forever by Chris Brown, Viva la Vida, Disturbia, or 4 Minutes-- those will always remind me of 2008.

Movie: 27 Dresses or High School Musical 3. {You might think I am kidding, but I am not!!}

Places traveled: San Antonio, TX, Pensacola, FL, Atlanta, GA, Destin/Navarre Beach, FL, Jackson, MS, Mazatlan, Mexico, Birmingham, AL, & Clayton, GA.

Book: Mrs. Perfect, Jesus Calling.

Comfort food: Jim's Nachos or Goldfish.

T.V. show: Desperate Housewives (duh) & Private Practice.

Bible Passage:

1) Rejoice in the Lord always; I will say it again, Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God that transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

2)

"Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or terrified, for the LORD your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you."

3) For I know the plans I have for you.. plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you HOPE and a FUTURE. Jer. 29:11

Article of Clothing: leggings with cute dresses or jeans (for some reason since I couldn't wear them in High school-- which I realize was a long time ago, I still love to wear them!!), my most popular clothing would have to be my scrubs from work because I wear those all during the week!

Restaurant: Panera, J.Alexanders, or Jim's Nachos (really any mexican!)

Needless to say, 2008 was a very hard year, but I know that the Lord is constantly at work in all of our lives.. and each day He is molding us into the person that HE created us to be-- May we all rest in that & hope that each day (and year) we are growing....

May 1, 2009- Save the date!

RELAY FOR LIFE!!!!

I am so excited for this years relay for life-- Mattie was so blessed to have so many wonderful friends/family last year supporting him and his team at Nashville's relay. This year, Mattie is in charge of sponsorship for the East Nashville Riverfront event. It's going to take place at LP Field. I am so proud of him for stepping up and for really being eager to help for such a great cause. This event is put on in support of the American Cancer Society. We are already starting to talk about our teams, so please let me know if you are going to be there to support my man in this event!

{here is our great team from last year!}

The Windy City

It snowed 8 inches!! We had so much fun in the snow! (Cherry and my uggs, not so much!)

We got some great buys which made the hubbies happy!

Girl Trip to Chicago!

Emily, Cherry and I had the best time in Chicago! We left Friday morning and sat on the runway for about an hour because it was too cold in Chicago to land.. however, this didn't phase us one bit. As soon as we arrived in Chicago, we grabbed our bags, and headed for the "El". We loved taking the "El" and I must admit we were very proud of our sense of direction getting around the city. We got to our hotel, dropped off our stuff and started shopping!!! We had 2 full days of nothing but fun, laughs, shopping, and good food. We went to Giordano's Pizza (which was fantastic!) and this adorable lunch place called Minnie's recommended to us by 2 guys no less! They had a full menu of mini sandwiches-- it was so great!

Perhaps my favorite part of the trip was our visit to the American Girl store. It was incredible--- It brought me back to my childhood and I loved getting to see all the dolls. They are so creative and unique.. love them!!

I am so thankful for two wonderful friends who make my life very fun!! Love you girlies!!
